Historic Preservation Projects

Part of the mission of the Camp Chingachgook Alumni Association is to preserve the camp’s history.

Resoration of Cedar Lodge

Built in 1936, Cedar Lodge is one of the oldest cabins at Camp Chingachgook. Used as the health center or infirmary from 1936 until the summer of 2006, this beautiful building in the center of camp with an iconic view of Buck Mountain is in need of preservation. The fireplace (built by Dwayne Irish, the father of Joann Mahoney and one of Pilot Knob’s first residents) is in need of a full restoration. The roof needs to be replaced, and once complete this historic structure will be a meeting place for many groups at the camp.
