YMCA Camp Chingachgook - Alumni Association

The only reason the Camp Chingachgook Alumni Association has been able to do all it has in the past is because of its members. With out our dues paying members we would not have been able to accomplish the inspiring projects of the past. It is because of you that we were able to give the camp a fleet of war canoes. It is because of you that we were able to design and build a tree fort that over looks beautiful Lake George and it is because of you that we were able to build a state of the art hike and trip center that is the envy of many camps. The Alumni Council recognizes the importance of its members and hopes that you will continue to support our efforts in the future. Each year we ask alums to join the association so we can support the camp and improve the experience each child has there.

With all that goes on in our busy lives it is easy to put the donation letter aside and forget about it. It is so important that we not let this happen. Each year the camp depends on the Alumni Association to help finance projects that improve the camp. For many of us, Camp Chingachgook gave us something we will never forget. For some of us it was self-esteem, for others it was a sense of belonging. Perhaps you remember camp for giving you a feeling of accomplishment when you received your seaman’s award or your expert card in water-skiing. Maybe you remember the pride you felt when you were able to climb that mountain with a full backpack. For many of us it was the first place we learned to swim or the place where we learned how to develop our own pictures. No matter what you remember most about Camp Chingachgook, it is almost certain that you made lasting friendships. It is a goal of the alumni association to give something back to the camp that has given us so much. We hope that you will be able to join the association and help us help the camp.

Any one who is interested in joining the association can do so by sending membership dues to the camp. Each year we send out our newsletter that has a donation envelope or you can access a donation form by going to our website at www.chingachgook.org We hope to have our biggest year as an association in the camp’s 90th year of operation. Thank you all so much for all your past support and we hope to hear from you in the future.
